JULY-AUGUST, 2007
Baltimore, MD First Free Methodist was the most unique revival we have ever done. The local area has special needs. Children and teens who attend the programs geared for them come from rough backgrounds. Most had never been in the sanctuary before our coming. “Lord, you are going to have to really help us here, because it you don’t this is going to flop soooo badly.” We relied heavily on God. On Wednesday, 71 children and 15 visiting adults heard a simple gospel message about our need to get right with God; most of the kids responded when we opened the altar. On Thursday, 24 teens heard the music and Paul’s life story; most of them came to pray at the close. In the Saturday morning adult prayer breakfast, we felt God speaking. On Sunday morning, the concert presented the Gospel message in comedy, song, and testimony. Again, God used the “lunch,” that we had given Him and blessed it with souls being reached for Jesus. What a great opportunity for harvest there among the row houses and broken homes of Baltimore! Pray that decisions made there will last amidst the turmoil of summer break.
Sunday evening, we traveled south to Annapolis, where we met the president of Cycle Disciples and spent a couple of days with him. Monday evening, we attended their chapter meeting and were privileged to sing for them. What a blessing it was to meet new friends in Christ.
Berkeley Springs, WV is a little tourist community. The people were encouraged by our ministry and several found spiritual help that night. It was good to see friends, Bill & Jeanette Tucker again.
About 40 miles out of Charleston, WV, a man drove past us pointing back. We saw that the trailer tire was smoking. It didn’t catch fire, but bearings and brake shoe were damaged on the passenger side rear. Soon a pickup truck stopped and a man and his son got out to see if they could help. We gingerly moved down the road to the next off ramp and got the tire off and the wheel chained up. By then, it was 10:00 p.m. The man in the pickup told us where get repairs, so we drove over to the shop. Finding no place to park there, we went to a nearby church parking lot where we spent the night. The next morning, our diagnosis proved correct: the bearings and brake shoe needed replacing. Nothing was available locally; they would have to be ordered from North Carolina and shipped by overnight express.
Limping on 3 wheels, we headed to Charleston for Sunday concerts, one to the north, the other to the southeast. We knew God had something special in mind, since Satan was fighting to keep us away. That morning, hearts were touched and changed at Calvary Nazarene. Then, we hurried to a park where Southeast Church of the Nazarene was having lunch, games, and a late afternoon concert with “the Jacksons.” It was a perfect end to the day as God spoke to hearts through us.
On Monday, the repairs were made and we were on our way again. Halfway across Kentucky, a pickup flew past us pointing wildly. Smoke was pouring from the rear of the trailer again. A tire had blown and the wheel rim was ruined. We hadn’t felt a thing. As freeway traffic whizzed by, Trish warned vehicles into the other lane. The blowout was on the passenger side, but we weren’t keen about working on it with trucks blowing by us. With the spare tire on, we went on our way. In Springfield, MO we finally found another wheel. Thirty miles later, a trucker went past us honking and pointing. This time the driver’s side trailer tire was smoking! “Lord, how many tires do we have to go through!?” This tire was catching on fire, so Paul grabbed the extinguisher and raced to put it out. Two minutes later a fire chief arrived and within 5 minutes the fire truck pulled up. Trish called them our angel and 3 wise men (coming from afar :0). With the lights flashing, traffic moved over as we chained the wheel and visited with the men. After seeing us safely to the next exit, the crew went on their way. No repairs were available, (It was Father’s Day weekend) so we slowly made our way to Buffalo, KS. The people there were encouraged by our ministry; they loved Har Lee & Mama. Several made commitments to the Lord that morning.
The next week, during District Assembly, we located a repair shop in Derby, KS, where we learned that both axles needed to be replaced. Ouch! The bill came to $3900.00; the $650.00 we spent in West Virginia also went down the drain! We rested in the fact that God knows our need and hasn’t failed us yet.
The following Sunday, our Jetstream Trio concert at Wichita Grace Nazarene with Trish’s brother, Leonard Pohl, was ordered of the Lord. Pastor Bob Wells and people were appreciative of our coming and encouraged to get out into their community to spread the Good News. Several stood to pray at the close.
On July 1, the people at Pratt, KS Nazarene were surprised to see a bike and trailer in their church foyer. We had finally begun our summer ministry. God spoke through the patriotic music, reminding people that He paid a great price for their freedom. Several responded when Paul gave the invitation.
On July 4, our CMA chapter held a bike rally at the Kansas Soldier’s Home in Ft. Dodge, KS where we had opportunity for one-on-one visiting as well as a parade, bike games, a bike show (our bike won first place), devotional, and singing in the hospital dining room during lunch.
This summer, we will be “in and out” as we try to keep the weekends scheduled with trio concerts and finish siding our house during the week.
Pray for:
- Strength and health, especially for Paul. He continues to cough and feels tired much of the
time. We are going to the doctor about it on July 10.
- The meeting of the financial need during this time of getting our house in order. Many of the
churches will be small and not able to give much towards our support, but they need God’s
touch just as much as the big churches, maybe even more.
- Safety on the road as we are on the motorcycle much of the time and as we are working at home.
- God’s direction as we are on the bike. Although we will not be going on an extended tour until
September, every time we stop is an opportunity to tell somebody about Jesus.
Your prayers are so greatly appreciated. Thank you for lifting us daily.
Blessings in Jesus,
Paul & Trish Jackson

This tour has been an interesting one, to say the least. The Lord blessed our services in Keokuk, IA and Princeton, IL with many standing to pray for spiritual needs at the close.
On May 5, our niece, Gloria Marshall, graduated from ONU with honors. It was a thrill to attend her nurse's "pinning ceremony" and graduation exercises, and to visit with friends and family we hadn't seen for awhile.
Demotte, IN is continuing to grow and expand its godly influence upon the community. It was a joy to be with Pastor Bill Hunter and his people. God spoke to hearts that morning as we spoke about getting outside the church walls to bring people to Jesus. Though the crowd was smaller in Peru, IN, hearts were touched and changed there as well.
We filled Mother's Day Sunday morning just 2 days before we arrived. Batavia, OH is a rural community not far from Cincinnati. Although Pastor Allen had just had a group the previous Sunday, he checked with his people and they said, "Come on." It was encouraging to see the folks making new commitments to God as the service ended. That evening we ministered in Hillsboro, OH with Pastor Tom Zile and again, God met with us and people responded to God's tug upon their lives.
Pastor Jerry Carpenter was excited about having us at the Westside Church in Chillicothe, OH. The church is growing and reaching into the community. We were one of the tools that God used in seeing that happen. Several prayed for God's touch in their lives as the service came to a close.
The following Sunday, the Lord placed us in Newton Falls and Champion, OH. The evening service was booked on short notice again, but God had us there for a purpose as we saw many giving their needs to Jesus. People and pastor were both encouraged.
In Mercer, PA, we were blessed with the presence of several CMA bikers. It was a busy evening with many conflicting events happening, but God met with us and ministered through us. Pastor Rick Gardner is anxious to have us back again when more of his people can be there.
The following services put us deep into the Pennsylvania mountains. We called many places for Memorial Day weekend. "Where do you want us, Lord?" Finally the doors opened in Windber and Ryot. The weekend was a busy one with vacations, graduations, and other events taking people away from their home church, but God had His agenda for the day. He blessed our efforts with many praying for God's undertaking in their lives and needs. We renewed old acquaintances and made new friends in the process. On Tuesday, a goodly number of folks came out to our service in Hanover, PA. They loved Har Lee and Mama and several got spiritual help.
Pray for:
- Open dates. We are heading back toward home now.
- Strength and safety on the road.
- The meeting of financial needs.
- Continued anointing upon our services and our daily schedules.
Your prayer support is so deeply appreciated. Thank you for lifting us daily.
Be blessed In Jesus!

As our time at home winds down, Trish's mother, Faye Pohl, has had surgery to give her some relief from the obstruction in her colon caused by radiation adhesions. The surgeon saw no evidence of cancer as he worked. Her CEA test is almost normal now. On day 2, we almost lost her due to low blood pressure and high heart rate, but God answered prayer and she is making progress as we write this letter. The Lord's presence was so real in that hospital room as Trish sang praises to the Lord. Many were praying for God's touch. Faye is doing much better now. Thank you for your continued prayers for her as she recovers from her ordeal. God has also answered prayer in locating someone she can stay with as she recuperates.
Pray for:
- Safety on the road and strength for the journey.
- God's direction as we continue to fill empty dates.
- A reaping of the harvest as we minister.
- A physical touch for Paul. He continues to have swelling around a tooth and a cough that won't go away.
Your prayer support is so very important. Thank you for lifting us. You make a difference.
Blessings in Jesus,
Paul & Trish Jackson
