LEONARD POHL BATTERED SAILS MINISTRIES Battered Sails Ministries presents Leonard Pohl in a versatile program of country gospel, southern gospel, inspirational and patriotic music combined with recitation, poetry, and a dry wit that appeals to all ages and tastes. Although Leonard has sung in various musical groups since his teen years, he began a "solo" career in 1998 on the heels of a divorce. It was then that he realized how important it is to be firmly anchored in Jesus, so that when we face life's storms, we can stand firm. He has shared this message in churches, banquets, car rallies, cowboy gatherings, malls, pageants, community events, and patriotic celebrations. In 2002, Leonard became a member of the Country Gospel Music Association, based in Branson, MO. Since then, he has been the recipient of regional, national and international CGMA awards including most recently being named New Male Artist of the Year in 2004. Other awards have been Acapella Group of the Year (2003 and 2004) and Vocal Group of the Year (2004) as a member of The Jetstream Trio. The artist recently recorded his first solo album, "The Anchor Holds," a meaningful collection of songs about comfort, faith, and family. You won't want to miss this lifting gospel presentation.
