About the Artist:

Leonard Pohl was raised in southwest Kansas in a Christian home, but didn't come to know Jesus as his Savior until he was in second grade. By then, his family had moved to Boulder, CO. A few years later they moved again, this time to Nampa, ID. Members of his family were singers, including his mom, dad and sister Trish.

While Leonard enjoyed singing as a young boy, his real introduction to music ministry came when his family moved back to Kansas and he was chosen to sing with a church district youth group know as IMPACT. His talent in singing and ministry was further developed in the youth group of his local church. One particular event provided a singing inspiration for him: Whitey Gleason and the Jubilee Quartet came to his church and did a concert. As a member of his youth group he enjoyed the music so much that he and three other local teens formed a quartet of their own called S.A.L.T (Salvation and Living Truth), with a female as top tenor. That was the beginning of a singing career.

Following high school, Leonard spent two years studying mechanics at a nearby junior college, then felt led to continue his schooling at Mid-America Nazarene University in Olathe, KS. While there, his deep bass voice garnered him a place in the Colonial Quartet and Celebration, both official traveling groups sponsored by the college to sing in churches, youth camps, and church district assemblies. He felt that God was calling him into fulltime ministry. Upon graduation from MNU, he worked as an associate pastor for several years.

Following that time, he began working for a car dealership in Pratt, KS, first as a mechanic, then, as service manager. He is active in the music program of his local church and in Pratt Community Theater, where he has played a variety of roles in their biannual productions. In his leisure time, he enjoys playing games and watching movies with his children, golfing, motorcycling, and restoring cars.
